Lori Streu is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Certified Parent-Adolescent Mediator in the state of Missouri. She earned her Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology from the University of Missouri--Kansas City in 1998 and her Education Specialist in School Counseling (K -12) in 2009. Lori has twenty-five years of experience working in the field of mental health with children, adolescents, adults, and families. She has practiced in many mental health and educational settings including:

• Johnson County Community College: Student Counseling and Career Center
• Humana Recovery Services: Outpatient drug and alcohol counseling
• University of Missouri-Kansas City: Outpatient counseling for individuals, families, and couples and also served as an Adjunct Instructor in the Counseling and Guidance Department
• Synergy Services Emergency Youth Shelter: youth and family counseling
• Metropolitan Community Colleges: Adjunct Instructor of Psychology
• Lawson RXIV Schools: District Resource Counselor
• Liberty Public Schools: Alternative Education Counselor

Lori utilizes a variety of counseling methods to help each client build on their personal strengths, to foster new and healthier life skills and patterns, and to identify and achieve their goals. Her methods include, but are not limited to: cognitive-behavioral, solution-focused, interpersonal, and client-centered therapies.
